AT YOUR SERVICE

 It’s a beautiful morning, the birds are chirping, you can feel the sun rays through the window, this is one of the mornings that you do not want to leave your bed; not like you want some more sleep you just want to lounge. Suddenly, you hear a knock on your door, “Yes, come inn”. It’s a gentle man in a white shirt and a black suit. Eyes opened wide “What are you doing here and how may I help you”?. Well I am Laurence and I’m here to serve you; whatever you want will get to you sooner than you think. What! I can hear you exclaim, I can’t believe this, I fantasize this a lot. You smile to yourself. O.K Laurence, I want my breakfast in bed, I want my water for bathing to be slightly warm, I want my room to be clean, I want this I want that. You just can’t believe this is actually happening to you. Sooner than you think all these things are done, courtesy Laurence. The amazing thing is that he does it with so much joy and with speed too. My! Can I have this beautiful experience every day? I wish! Sooner than I think Laurence will be gone and I’ll have to go back to my normal way of living. You hear yourself soliloquize. Hmm,dearest, do you know you have “Laurence” at your service every time, he’s always with you but you never ask him to do anything for you. Listen, when I say Laurence, not Laurence Laurence you know, I simply mean angels. Angels are at your service, you can ask them to do anything for you and I mean anything but do you really engage them? For me, I have started engaging them and it's been such a beautiful experience. You are not supposed to beg them, you are to command and instruct them to do what you want. I attended a programme and  I was famished, when the programme ended I knew that most people were going to head towards the cafeteria, with the population in the cafeteria I wouldn't have been able to get food with ease, so my option was to sleep hungry. I sure did not want to sleep hungry then I just asked my angel to get there and speed up the process. You won’t believe this, the speed at which I got my food from the cafeteria was not usual, courtesy, my angel. Understand that they are waiting for you to put them to work remember, they are always at your service, so why suffer when you have an innumerable number waiting to serve you.

SMALL, YET MIGHTY!

Hi dearest, I’m so glad to have you here; I really hope you’ve been doing great. Happy new year to you, I’m  so excited we both made it to this grande year 2013. Relax and enjoy, this experience of mine…….

Sometime ago, I read something short but beautiful and it hasn’t left me since then; it goes thus,” You think you are too small to make impact? Try sleeping in a room with a mosquito”. It was funny but I remembered some nights I just couldn’t sleep well, no thanks to a mosquito, now take note of that a mosquito. Hmmmm, it kept singing in my ears and every attempt to kill it proved abortive.

Just a while ago, I was preparing for one of my speaking engagements, when I felt a very piercing and excruciating pain. O my! What could that have been? I started searching for whatever it was that dealt with me in such manner. I just couldn’t wait to find out what made me feel so much pain. Now, could you just do me a favour by guessing what  I saw.

Oh yes! You are sooooo right, I saw an ant, You sure had a clue from the image. “Smiles”  To be specific, a  small black ant.What! Was this what gave me so much pain? I killed it with so much strength and anger. Mission accomplished! Do you believe that I could still feel the pain hours, after the initial attack? I think you should believe me cause you  should have had your own share from this small but mighty ant one time or another.

Hmmm, this was a very painful but beautiful experience; it just made me understand the more that you my dearest friend, are not too small to make lasting impact in another’s life, your immediate environment and even in the world at large. If an ant could make that impact though negative on my skin, then how much more you? Start making that impact NOW, but make sure it’s positive. Don’t worry about my skin, it doesn’t hurt again, but trust me I wouldn’t forget the pain that kept me up for a while. “Wink wink”.

MY JOURNEY

 

 

 

 

Hi dearest, it's so good to have you here; I feel like screaming for joy, c'mon it's few hours to the new year; just like yesterday. Hmmm, just before this beautiful year takes a bow, I would want to share some of my experiences with you this year. Usually, I don't do this but I'm sooo going to do this for you my dearest and committed reader and as always, sit back relax and enjoy.............. I forgot to add this, learn.

Eyes kept dashing towards every time device, from wristwatches, to mobile phones to wall clocks.......... Amidst the prayers and praise, as the long and short hand of each time device hit 12midnight on January 1 2012, you needed to have heard the screamings that filled the whole environment. Of course you know that familiar scream, "Happy New Year", and the joy, hugs....... that come along with it.

Hmmm, it's almost a year now, and I remember every detail like it was yesterday. At the very beginning of the year, all I wanted to do in the year 2012 was to affect lives of young people, especially teenagers, via write-ups and speaking engagements. I also had in my mental picture the number of young people I wanted to reach out to. I am such a great imaginer, I hope there's an English word like that, "smiles". Anyways I just kept myself soooooo busy with my imaginations, I mean speaking to soooo large an audience of young people and all. You get that picture right?.

Then, just as I began to imagine those things, they just started becoming sooooo real. It was as iron attracts magnets to itself, I mean I started speaking to young people in schools, sometimes the population for just one session will be soooo mind-blowing and so impactful. Why I know they were impactful was because after those sessions I got messages from these young people of how they were touched and had a change of jist as a result of the session. O well, all glory to God, it got so amazing when I am on the street and I see young people I don't even think I know all smiles and so excited to see me, and I'm like, "ok, where is this coming from?" Of course still nice but just curious and I hear, "You came to my school and spoke to us", and I 'm like, "Okkkkkkk, good to se you, hope you are good, and I also hope you are putting into practice all the things said? Take good care of yourself ok?" After all these, I keep moving .........

A short while ago, I was jisting with my friends and telling them that this year 2012, was the best year of my life, and I meant every word.

Enough of 2012 jist, now let's face our dear and most amazing 2013 which has entered into the labour room and would soon be birthed. Inasmuch as 2012, was my best year ever, dearest I'm so not satisfied, for me and for you my dearest and committed reader, 2013, is soooooooooo going to be our year. The 2012, jist will be nothing compared with the great and I mean it great great great, 2013 jists God has in store for us. Do me a favour dearest, let's fake it until it becomes so real. Whatever we want to see let's really fake it till it becomes really really real.

Hey! Smiling D, enough, I guess this is the longest piece I've written on this blog. I hope I didn't bore you with my long true life story of 2012. Trust me this is not all the jist o, see me in camera for the fullest jist. "winks"

To you my dearest and committed reader, again I say thanks for always being there, without you there's really no Star's Delight neither is there a Smiling D. Congrats on seeing the end of the most beautiful year 2012 and give me the honours to say congrats again on seeing the most most beautiful year ever 2013.

CHRISTMAS SPECIALE

Hi dearest, it’s so good to have you here; you can’t imagine how excited I am, infact, at this moment I feel like shouting for joy. C’mmon it’s December, the very last month of this great year.

Hmmmmm! Lest I forget let me sing the Christmas song for just you my dear and committed reader. So enjoy………..  I wish you a merry Christmas, I wish you a merry Christmas, I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year. I hope you heard how beautiful the voice sounded? “Winks”. Ok that was on a light note, now back to business.

The most beautiful thing about Christmas is the fact that God made a huge sacrifice by sending His son to earth to live like a normal child. Can u fathom that? I mean the most influential, the richest; you name it, in the whole of the heaven and even earth now coming to a “local place” to live and become like the people there. He broke every social class barrier and initiated a classless society. The gist did end well cause  now, the sacrifice made years ago is still speaking today. Thanks to the huge sacrifice made and that’s why you and I are where we are today.

The gist is this, this Christmas should be a very different one, make a sacrifice for someone, make sacrifices for people. Listen dearest; they don’t necessarily have to be the huge things we think of; but the very small things. You could give a hug, a smile, an appreciative note, a listening ear, o you name.  Nothing is too small and trust me nothing is too big. Always remember the little things matter the most.

Merry Christmas again and let’s make this Christmas the most sacrificial, and our returns will be amazing to us.

NOW

                                                                               

T’was  just the first month, days ago and now! Yes  now, it is the eleventh month. Hmmm, how days fly, maybe faster  than even birds. Goals were set right? Plans were made? O yes! They sure must have been set and made, now before it’s December just look back and try to see how many of those goals and plans that were achieved. All, Some, Few, None?.   Whatever your answer is , yeah, it’s a month left  in this year but trust  me  you can still achieve some things.  Months have gone, time has been spent no doubt, but if you put your heart to it and you involve God totally  in it, He’ll grant you a speed that is faster than even  that of a deer. You just put in your effort one more time and start whatever you were supposed to start now and you’ll certainly see the difference. 

All my special November celebrants, I am singing a birthday song for you at the moment, so receive it with Love. May this new year mark peace  for you in Jesus name. Cheers

HEIGHTS WITHOUT LIMITS

Hi dearest, I’m so glad to have you here; I really hope you’ve been great. Sit back and enjoy……………….

It was a very beautiful morning, birds were chirping, the sun was rising beautifully as always; I just couldn’t but admire the beauty it revealed. I had to be somewhere for an important meeting, hurriedly, I burst into the bathroom to have my bath in readiness for the meeting. Guess what I saw in the bathroom? An ant. Seriously, "what on earth is an ant doing in this bathroom"? Trust me that bathroom was so neat, well maintained so I was wondering where it came from. I just ignored it and continued with my business. At some other time, I was on a very tall building say the tenth floor, neat environment too and I saw another ant. I just got thinking and came up with this, there’s really no where ants can’t get to, deep into the soil and very high inside the tenth floor of a building. Well how they do it, that I don’t know, but one thing I know for sure is this, if an ant as tiny as it is, can reach very high and tall places then you can reach higher places with God by your side. So, you need not worry or bother, cause you can and will reach great heights and places, if an ant can do it, then you can do it and so can I.

WHERE AM I?

Hi dearest,

it’s so good to have you here, I really hope you’ve been great. Sit back and enjoy……

The last Saturday of June wasn’t one of the days I wanted to go out; I simply was going to settle so many pending issues in-house. Well, evening came so did hunger pangs. I couldn’t wait to get something into my tummy, in no time, I got ready and started heading towards the cafeteria.

I was coming from the last floor, few stairs to the ground floor when I saw a friend, as usual, we exchanged pleasantries and I kept moving when she suddenly said, ” Your cologne is nice”, I replied with a dimpled smile, “O thanks”!. Few seconds later, she turned and said,” You really smell nice”, once again with another dimpled smile, I replied, “thank you”.

Dearest, trust me these statements were really amazing because I did not wear any cologne that day so I didn’t expect any comment, positive for that matter or any emphasis. I was thinking deep and suddenly remembered that where I was prior to the time I left for the cafeteria had a very wonderful fragrance and I just happened to pass there at that time, so the beautiful fragrance just rubbed off on me.
My friend simply assumed I wore the wonderful fragrance not knowing I did not wear any, but trust me on this, I did have my bath. *Laughs*

Few hours later, I understood my bestie was teaching me a lesson from that experience that did not last for five minutes. Now dearest, ask yourself, Where am I? What or who is surrounding me?

Dearest, it’s high time you started being around places, people that will add value, beauty and fragrance into your life; I hope you remember that I didn’t wear any cologne but was only somewhere where someone's cologne rubbed off on me. Make sure you have the right people around you, so even if you are not a right person, the right people around you will rub off on you so in no time, you’ll be a right person.
