PEN IT! SAY IT!

Hey guys!! It is always a delight having you here. I trust you have been having an amazing 2017. I am so excited about what this year holds. I have a great feeling that it's going to be an amazing year.  I am looking forward to every month, in fact everyday in this new year. You should too!😁😁

Oh yes, I know it is the end of the month already, but I needed to drop this to inspire someone as this has also inspired me. It's no news that you've got loads of plans for this year, that is really awesome. I am really optimistic that all your plans will come to fruition in the course of the year.

Relax and enjoy.................

So, four years ago, I had a desire to host an event for young adults, and to say I knew how to go about all the logistics would not be the truth. Yes, I always imagined the event being really grande and affecting all the participants positively, but when I thought about the execution, it sent chills down my spine.

Before, I began speaking to people about the plans, and requesting some of them to be part of the team, I drafted all I wanted to see at the event.  Everyday I took the draft and said it to myself. It got so good that I did not need my phone or printed sheet to say what I wanted to see at the event. I had said it over and over again that every part of me was conversant with the draft.

As soon as I had people who were happy to work with me on the project, I handed out the small printed piece, which contained everything I wanted to see at the event.  I told them to kindly read it out everyday, calling those things that are not as though they were.

It took several months preparing for the event, and eventually the big day came. Amazingly, all what I wrote in that small piece happened at that event. After the event, I took out the piece and compared what happened at the event to what was on the piece, it was just exactly what I wrote.

It's four years now and guess what? I still have that piece, and every time I look at it, it brings smiles to my face and reminds me that  what I speak has a great potential of becoming. So this month, all through this year, get yourself a journal, write all you want to see in every aspect of your life  and begin to say it everyday.

If you need to set an alarm to remind you that hey, its time to speak life, please do. Sooner than you think, perhaps later,  but at the very right time, it would still become your reality

Don't  stop thinking big no matter what comes your way. Don't stop talking big, no matter what life throws at you. I know from previous experiences, that speaking life eventually brings life. So, begin creating that beautiful tomorrow by writing it down and speaking about it today and everyday.

When it becomes a reality, as I know it would do well to share your joy. I look forward to hearing your amazing story.

Till my next piece have an awesome time. Oh, yes! As always, do well to share.😄😄

WARMTH ALERT!!

Hey guys! Merry Christmas in arrears; trust you had a great time with family and friends. I had a great time too.

Yippee!!! I am so excited that in few days it would be a new year. A big thanks for making this year worthwhile, your comments,  likes, and shares put smiles on my face. It is always great to have you savor all the posts that come your way.

As 2016, gradually takes a bow, I thought to share this personal experience with you. The memory leaves, me in awe. Relax, enjoy, and do well to share.

A couple years ago, I relocated to England. Prior to my relocation, I lived all my life in Western Africa; Nigeria to be precise which is typically very hot for the most part of the year. I hear and read about how the weather in England could get extremely cold. All these stories still was not a reality to me.

Few weeks upon my arrival, reality becomes crystal clear. One beautiful day, the winter makes a grand entrance. The snow keeps pouring down for six hours nonstop.  I am not in the comfort of my house when it starts;  all I look forward to is getting to the warmth of my room. I get home very late and to say it is a cold evening would be an understatement. I have a quick hot dinner head to my room, get dressed like an onions in preparation for sleep. I tuck myself underneath the duvet, so confident that the next time I am waking up would be when my alarm goes off.

On the contrary, in less than twenty minutes, I am up.  I just cannot sleep. I am literally freezing.  Don't forget, I am layered in warm clothing; my windows are shut as well. To think that my thoughts were that being in the comfort of my room with windows shut will keep me warm. No, they did not. Shivering continuously, I get off my bed. I head down where the meter is and try so hard to turn on the heating of the house. All to no avail. Did I mention it was my first week in the house? Oh yes, it was! I totally forget to ask my housemate how to operate the heating of the house.

The worse part of the evening is that she is not home and will not return until dawn. After several attempts with no record success, I resolve to go back to my room. As I climb the stairs to my room, I am shivering. I lay on my bed under my duvet and speak to God with clattering teeth. I say, "God, I cannot sleep. I am so cold, please help me, I need to sleep".

Almost immediately guys, the strangest thing happens. I feel a blanket over me. I am not even kidding. I feel a blanket over me guys. Before I know it I become very warm, and in no time, I sleep off. The next time I am up is when my alarm is blaring. Of course, I snooze for another fifteen minutes before I finally get up.This is one experience; I just can never forget.

Yes, it still is a mystery to me, but it did happen. It was that moment I realize again that God is indeed mindful of everything that has to do with me. Of course you too. If He did it for me, He can do much more for you. You can have amazing personal experiences with Jesus.

So in this season, and even beyond, get personal with Him,and whatever is a concern, big or small,  He'd be right there by your side to help you. Give this a try and I look forward to reading your own experience.  Do well to tell a friend to tell another friend to read this.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Hey guys! Happy happy thanksgiving. It's thanksgiving today, and I am so excited. To say I had an amazing time with family and loved ones will be an understatement. Oh the food was sooo good! Even before dinner started, seeing all the food on the table brought joy to my heart *smiles. I mean from the mashed potatoes, to the gravy to the cranberry sauce to the turkey and of course not leaving out the very known Nigerian jollof rice. I really had to tell myself to take it easy on those delicacies.
Okay guys, enough of the food jist,I see you salivating already.*smiles.
The highlight of today's thanksgiving, was when everyone on the table had to say what they were grateful for. That session brought tears of joy to almost every other person on the table as everyone had something to be thankful for. There's so much to be thankful for guys. You just may say there's really nothing to be thankful for,but you know what there is. You are alive, that's one thing to be thankful for.
Sometimes, I get confused as to what to wear for a function, but that state of confusion makes me have an attitude of gratitude because I am able to choose from a number of clothes, shoes, and jewelries. That's something to be grateful for. Sometimes, I get tired washing the piles of plate in the sink, but when that begins to happen, I remember that the piles of plate simply means that there is so much to eat in the house. Oh some other times, I don't just want to lift a finger to do a chore at home, but almost immediately, the chores tell me to be grateful cause I have a house to live. Some other times,I am not just excited about the situations in the present, and just then I remember, that how I enjoy my today will determine the memories I have of them tomorrow, so I then decide to have a heart of thanksgiving. One thing that came to me as a dew of the morning, is to be thankful about my bright and beautiful  future. So,amidst the situation you are going through today, have fun enjoying with loved ones  because when you are thankful,it opens doors for more amazing things.  Happy Thanksgiving!!!

PLUG IN

Hey guys! Great to have you here again. Trust you have been very well. Thanks for dropping your comments, and sharing our posts that have been coming your way. Here is another one, just for you; yes you *smiles. I trust you'd have a great time savoring the lines below. Enjoy......
So,it’s one thing for you to plug your phone or device, and return to unplug it after an hour; being assured that the device would be fully charged after an hour. You get to the charging point, only to realize that your device battery bar was the same as when it was plugged in. Well, this was exactly my experience. As soon as I got to the charging point, my reaction sang a duet. Shock and Anger. I began asking myself questions. Did you not plug it in properly? Was there a problem with the charger? Just by taking a closer look, I got the answer to all my questions. I realized my tab was plugged in half way and not completely. At this point, my anger was assuaged as I needed no investigation to know who the culprit was. I was the culprit. At this point, the right thing had to be done. Immediately, I plugged the device the right way and of course you can guess what happened.  It began to charge. In less than a minute, messages began to drop into the device. Apparently, these messages had been sent to hours before. This situation definitely got me thinking. As soon as this happened, it dawned on me that there just may be a couple messages that have wrapped in them all the answers to your prayers. Many things may have been sent to you by God, but they haven't been delivered .Could the reason be that you are not plugged in properly, perhaps not even plugged in at all. You just never can tell. Well, sometimes you could tell. It is time to recognize what areas of life you need to get plugged in and of course get properly plugged in. Your own “plug in” may be getting closer to God. Another could be working on your love life, being a person of love. Yet another could be letting go of past hurts and anger. I just learnt from my experience with my device and the charger, that my messages, goodies, blessings, have all been sent. It's now up to me to get plugged in so as to receive them. You think about how you need to get plugged in, so you can begin to receive all God has in store for you. Alright guys so that's my inspiration for today. Trust this inspired you as much as it did me. Do well, to share with friends even foes, and drop your comments as well. I'd be glad to hear from you. Till my next piece guys.
Load of Love,
Smiling D.

RELAX!

Hey awesome people. It’s good to have you here again. Thanks for always taking time from your busy schedule to read these lines that have been coming your way.

So an experience I had a couple years ago, is what inspired the lines you’d be savoring below. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Happy reading……………..

It’s my final year in college and for those of us that have been at this point, you know that final year is synonymous to project defense and a tone of presentations. Well, my own final year story wasn’t too different from this. I remember very clearly how we had been assigned projects as the requirement for one of the courses. This project was assigned in groups to ensure effectiveness and diversity of thoughts I believe.

The group leader decides to split the areas to be covered among all the members of the group. This was obviously done to ensure every one participated in the project. Anyways we all put in our best effort on this project to ensure we had no loop holes at all. My group was lucky enough to complete this project before the expected deadline. I mean I had such an awesome team of people. At this point, the group was able to settle on who would be representing the entire team in giving a detailed presentation of the project. We picked Tim who happens to be one of those vibrant guys who could go wrong on a few things except a presentation.

The big day of the presentation comes. My team members and I arrived the venue in good time. Everyone is set for the day, we have it all figured out. The only thing here is that Tim, our highly revered representative is nowhere to be found. We decide to wait a while, keeping our hopes alive. “He will show up”, we keep saying to ourselves. At this time it seemed like the clock had never moved this fast until now.

We could only hope that the clock slowed down. Well, as you may have guessed, it was soon going to be the turn of my group. Something had to happen, a decision had to be made fast. Guys, guess what, the lot fell on me. I was asked by my team members to represent the group. I stood in front of them with absolutely no clue about how this would turn out as I was nowhere near prepared.

At this point I knew I needed help that was bigger than myself. Then I mutter silently just before I go upstage, “God, you control everything in the world, please be in mouth and in my speaking”. I get up stage and begin to make the presentation. Once I was through with the presentation, there was an awesome roar of applause in the room. Interestingly all the judges on that panel  had amazing things to say about a presentation I was so sure I had made a mess of.

A few weeks later, we are able to view our results. Guess what guys? Yes! My team scored the highest. We all couldn’t hold our joy as we all aced the course. I honestly was in complete shock because even though I got tremendous feedback from the judges after the presentation, I was still worried about the turn out of our final scores.
I had to conclude at this point that God was in perfect control of that presentation. In my own opinion, He aced it perfectly. I can also say boldly at this point that He perfectly controlled what the lecturers heard and it turned to me and my team members for the highest good.

Guys, God really controls everything. He is able to change things for you;so relax. It wouldn’t be dependent on what you do, say or even think. It will be totally by His hand. Don’t get me wrong, preparation is very important, as I am one big fan of preparation. However, when things become totally out of your control, then you can be sure to ask God to take control of every aspect of that situation and He sure will.

Alright guys, that’s my story. I really look forward to hearing your own story of how God controlled something just for you.

Till my next piece, see you guys. Do well to drop your comments and share with foes and friends. *smiles

MY FRAGRANCE STORY

Hey people! Good to have you here. It feels to me, like it's been a while. I trust you have  been very well. I have been very well myself. I put this up for just you. Before you carry on, grab a seat, a snack, and a cold drink *smiles. Here we go........

You sure have stepped into a room, sat on the same row with total strangers. Haven't you? So I had this experience, where I attended a conference, and guess what? The only person I knew in that conference was me. I mean it felt like everyone who registered for that conference, registered with a friend. So, good thing I had a book in my bag to keep me company before the conference started.

The conference started on a very good note; the speakers did such a great job. Although I was getting tired, I was having such a great time. So, when the compere announced we were going to have an hour break before we carried on with the conference; it was like cold water to a thirsty soul. I headed out to the restaurant to grab a bite.

Just as I get into the restaurant; I see someone beside me saying hello with a broad smile. I say hello, giving this stranger a warm dimpled smile.  Apparently, this “stranger” is also a participant at the conference.  You remember the warning from our parents when we were younger right?  Don't talk to strangers! These words from my parents resounded in my ears just the way it did as a little girl.

Just before I decided if I was going to heed this warning or not, the stranger carried on.  My name is Chris, nice to meet you.  Nice to meet you, my name is D. I replied.   The stranger carried on. Goodness! I love your fragrance! What fragrance are you wearing? I smiled telling this stranger the name of the fragrance I was wearing.

Apparently, it turns out that the fragrance is the exact one his mum used to wear. Sadly, his mum passed on only a year ago. We began to chat; only to realize we had a lot of things in common. Before we both knew it, it was only five minutes to the end of the break. We exchanged contacts, and even kept in touch after the conference.

Years have passed by, and we are still very much in touch, helping each other in achieving goals and making impact.

You know what guys; this experience taught me lots of lessons. To think it was my fragrance that actually broke the ice for a conversation that eventually turns out to be one that has lasted over the years.

One question you need to ask yourself is this. What fragrance am I wearing?  I’m definitely not talking about the physical fragrance. Of course, that’s important too.

However, when people come around you, what do they perceive? Is there a fragrance of warmth, love, care, passion, coming from you or is there a fragrance of jealousy, anger, hate, perhaps pride around you?

Sometimes, I ask myself  D, what are you wearing?  I then tell myself you should always wear a fragrance of warmth, love, care all the time. Guess what guys? Wearing a good fragrance is really nice and I love it, but you know what’s nicer? That's right! The fragrance of love, warmth, hospitality, care. That's what attracts people to you.

Whatever it is you are wearing in life must be targeted at what you want to attract. So, start investing in the right fragrance.

Alright guys, I hope you enjoyed reading this, as much as I enjoyed writing it. Do well to tell a friend to tell another friend to read this. I look forward to hearing your own fragrance story.

Loads of Love,
Smiling D
